Just installed Frankencar polyurethane engine mounts, hop is almost all gone!!

Well last week I bought polyurethane engine mounts off of www.frankencar.com (Steve), thanks again for the great price! Today I finaly got to install them, the install took me close to 3 hours. I replaced the front and rear mounts only. The big thing with the install is just gettign the mounts to line up properly, this took a lot of fidiling around. I'd say the install is in the realm of a DIY mechanic with a little back round..

So onto the test drive First thing first, when I started the car up I felt a bit of a vabration, then it smoothed out pretty well. The vabration is not real bad, once you get going it's completly gone. I went to my favorite spot to do some hard, hard launches. I tried my very hardest to get my car to hop and all I could get where 2 little tiny hops and that's it! The car feels very solid now taking off hard from the line. Before the poly mounts on a hard launch like that my car would have hop'd it's way down the road up until about 50 MPH I am very impressed over all and I think my times will go down at the track because of them!

interesting..4th gens would seem to be the largest market. hopefully you'll post updates on your progress with poly-mounts for 4th gens on your web page.

After a good 60 miles of driving with the new mounts today I gotta say I am even more imopressed! The car truely has so much more control when ever I hit the gas. I use to have the banging noise under the car before becusae of my sillen y-pipe, well the noise is completly gone now! I highly sugest these mounts to anyone who can deal with a slite vibration in the steering wheel. If you can't live with the vibration you can raise your idle to about 900 RPM and the vbration will be completly gone.

TellschMax02, true you can do this on your own but good luck waiting around for the mounts to cure

ya that's the hold up with most people, you could go out and buy the mounts for like 200 bucks and then try and do it yourself. for the 100 bucks you can get them all done and to your door and not have to wait and not have to worry about gutting them and if you do it right and make a mess. trust me, my garage is a mess there is polyurethane everywhere but it's what i do and i've done a few sets and i've gotten better at it.
