How do you guys clean your seatbelts?
mine are getting a little dirty and I just want to know what works. Im afraid to use a cleaning brush because I think it will fray the material and make it all fuzzy. any tips?

Just use a carpet cleaner type cleaner, preferably in aerosol, or pump spray format. Test it on a part of the seat belt that won't be noticed just to be sure it doesn't discolour the seat belt. 99% of the time, if it is a carpet type cleaner, it's safe. Pull the seat belt out all the way, cris crossing the seats, so you don't have to hold onto them constantly while cleaning. If they aren't too dirty, just use a small wash cloth damped, to wipe them done. If they are really grimy, spray the cleaner on, use an old toothbrush, or a soft new one, to scrub. Leave them cris crossed to air dry.

My belts on my Maxima are black, but I have done beige/tan ones before on an Acura. I have a bottle of carpet cleaner that is actually supposed to be used with those wet vacs you can rent that use really hot water. I just put a little into a little pump spray (holds like 50mL), sprayed it onto my friend's seat belts, used a tooth brush to work it in, wiped it off with a damp cloth.

can you take them out? i forget...i took my back seat out the other day and noticed i've been driving with the middle back seatbelt tucked underneath and no one ever told me and i hadn't noticed. so it was all dirty and i need to clean them...tan ones so dirt shows up more...it might be easier to take out and clean then just put back on. but, not sure if they do come right out.
