Loose vacuum hose

I was checking around my engine bay for the HGS install and I found this:

I also noticed that my Greddy boost gauge shows constant 200 mmHg vacuum unless I'm boosting. Any ideas where this hose goes (notice the big hose bracket connected to it, maybe that'll give a clue).

I don't think I disconnected the hose, I think it's been like that. I didn't see anywhere it could connect to. I just noticed the boost gauge reading, and I usually watch it, today is the first time it's been stuck at 200 mmHg.

Re: Loose vacuum hose

You have a manual transmission, correct? I think that's the manual tranny vent tube. It's supposed to be open the end like that. Trace back the line. If it connects to the top of the tranny, then that's what it is.

Nope, auto tranny. If the hose is supposed to be loose, I wonder if it's not the cause of the boost gauge problem.

There is actually one tube which is connected to nothing in the engine bay. Might be the one you are holding there. I can't get a good view, but it is near the large the crankcase breather tube you would remove (and reinsert) if you were putting in a hybrid intake. I think the "empty" tube was originally connected to the stock air duct, since its approximately in that location (after I removed my stock air duct).

I have an auto too.. I have that same loose hose. It's the tube for the vent on the tranny.. Without it the pressure won't be able to release..

Cool, that's what I was hoping to hear. Thanks for checking!

Now I have to figure out why the boost gauge shows 200 mmHg vacuum all the time (except when WOT or boosting).
