Valentine 1 Issues

I have a Valentine 1 Radar/Laser Detector, and I've noticed that particular vehicles set off the Laser detection on it... It's very odd, only when they hit their brakes and their brake lights come on, my laser detection goes off. The following vehicles that cause this problem are: Chevy Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Chevy Avalanche, and the Lincoln Mark VII cars. Has anyone else had this problem?

Did you read your manual?

It says in there that Neon can set it off. All of the cars you mention (except maybe the Avalanche) have neon brakelights on the back.

Yeah I have noticed that neon lights on building will set it off sometimes, and I think I figured out that its the 3rd brakelight on the back of the Trailblazer, Envoy, and Avalanche that does it, because that 3rd brakelight looks the same on all 3 of those.

We have a winner. The 3rd center mounted light is the neon tube. The main part of rear decklid on the Mark VIII is also one long neon tube.

Wow, that is interesting information... Kinda sucks for those of us with laser detection on our detectors... It's almost as if we get 99% false warnings, almost defeats the purpose of having laser detection.

You got that right! The V1 almost makes you want to wet yourself when the laser warning goes off. It gives off this shrill aggressive sound. And the one time you actually get hit with real laser, you've been numbed by all the false alarms that you almost ignore it!

Hmmmm...I haven't had that problem but I do set off the laser
warning when I adjust my mirrors (power). Freaked me out the first
time because I was heading down I-10 at about 85 and had to adjust
the right-side mirror.
