Public apology on my part

Far be it from me to make excuses, I will not but. I will admit I messed up what should have been a very easy way for some members to mod their cars without large expense.

Click here to see the original thread...

Anyhow, all of the ones who committed and paid for the parts, please accept a 25% refund on your parts and all of the lenses ARE in the mail as of this morning Monday 4 Nov at 10 am west coast time.

I cannot tell you how crappy this makes me feel but better I let everyone know it took me WAY too long to get these out...

Thanks to all who were patient and I am hopeful they will be happy with the parts and the consideration of the refund.

I know the handful of members who participated are free to say what they want as I deserve it but wanted to do what I could reasonably to make up for it...for what it is worth, I don't consider myself not big enough to admit when I make mistakes...I am more humble than that.

Especially now...I hope this will not jade any of you against any future dealings with me as it is completely out of character for me.

Tracy, something like this where you apologize for taking too long... I would do business with you whenever you have something I want next time, Sprint's right, it takes a big man to apologize

I hope everyone else feels the same, you are on the 'good sellers' list

I think the fact that you also gave a 25% refund to is very admirable. The fact that youare making it known that you had complications is nice too since other people will be more trusting since you came right out and apologized. I applaud you. Plus you let them know what the status is........not like this guy Harlan who I am dealing with.

I agree. The company I bought my intake from... Fast Lane Performance... it has been 3 months since I placed my order (paid), I've made 2 threads, many PMs, and a string of emails - and I still have nothing but empty promises. Now that's bad business, if you can even call that a business at all!

That was the right thing to do, and very big of you to apologize to those people. Everybody messes up, but sometimes people don't know how to apologize and be sincere. I'm sure those who did business with you won't hold it against you too much now.

Most people have a conscience, at least I'd like to think such. When I bought my house the loan officer was away the day I wanted to lock my rate (stock market got hit hard, really hard). Then he gets nasty with me the next day and says is he entitled to take a vacation? I told him fine but the fact that I couldn't lock cost me over 7 thousand dollars and I really didn't think that's cool.

He calls back 5 minutes later and says he'll take the difference out of his commission. At the time I thought quite good about the situation, then a former loan officer told me the real deal.

Kudos to you for owning up to this. It's good to see some people
still take responsibility and acknowledge a fault without laying
blame all over the place. This kind of attitude will pay great
dividends for you over time. I commend you on your decisions here
and if I hadn't already cleared out my tails I'd buy from you.

Thanks Tracy
As one of the guys who received his lenses, I'm very pleased to see how professionally and respectfully he has handled the situation.

When I got the lens pieces from him, I spent about 2 hours getting them out and opening them up, only to suffer another 2 hours of frustration.. lol. I sent him a nasty email, which I later regretted, but by the end I was chuckling (what can you do, you have to maintain a sense of humour when life deals you a knuckleball). He was really cool on the reply, and we worked things out in a sensible manner, and he promised to send me a new set free.

I told a few people about my lens issues (never mentioning once who it was (I don't like to sell people out)), and knowing that once it was resolved they would likely want the lens pieces as well. I have a guy I work with who just bought a 97, so if you're still offering the deal, I'll give you his email address.

For those who are interested, now that Tracy has worked out the kinks ,the cut is perfect. It fit like a glove on the sides, and looked really nice on the ride. Take a look at my cardomain pics for an example of his work.

Hey Tracy, thanks for apologizing. I know it was an honest mistake. Look forward to getting covered in glue and crap again putting the new lenses in

Mike

I am really glad to see that you guys worked it out sensibly both understanding the others side and resolved it without a bunch of mud slinging or nasty posts throughout the forum.

No, we saved it for private emails. I'll be happy to post my not-so-politically-correct original email (in edited form) if Tracy wants to have a look. It's funny as hell (on reflection), and shows us what I'm sure many of us go through when a mod doesn't work out QUITE the way we expected it to ...

It does take a big man to realize his mistakes and a bigger man to publicly apologize for them. I look forward to receiving them. Plus, you just shown to everyone that you can be trusted in any future deals. Bravo!
