do you hold a record?

if so shoot me a PM, because I am going through trying to complile a list of 1/4 mile record holders, and it would really help speed up the process. It will be a sticky soon.

Ohhh, ohhh!

I got a few records for ya :

1)3-screws/nails in 2-months.
2)2-tire carcasses and 1-tire chunk in 1-month.
3)ONLY 1-windshield chip in 15K miles.

What did I win?

Well, I dont think of of you slackers have beat a 14.38@96.62 in a 3.0L 5th gen with just a Y-pipe and CAI, or even a 14.75@94.85 in a bog stock 3.0L 5th gen.

Notice how I prefaced it with the 3.0L moniker!

Re: do you hold a record?

I think this will cause more trouble than good...after that list is compliled you'll hear "show me video", "show me the ACTUAL timeslip", "what underwear were you wearing when you ran that 12 second run"...blah, blah. then you'll want guys wanting ridiculous records like "fastest with just an intake" or "fastest with Nelle Carter riding on my hood"

I think its pretty known among each Gen who the record holders are! I think we should leave it at that, we've seen enough 50+ page flame wars about whos running what and whos claiming to be the fastest. just my $.02

Hello,

Sure, that's a good idea. Would you like to start that up? I'll sticky it for you.

Kevin

I would hope to see something can't be whored up, just updated from time to time when new faster times are run. The mods could take care of that.

Maybe you could look on the 1/4 mile forum and easily pick out the faster ones, and that forum is moderated already.

You will always have the people who don't want to cooperate, but if you want to try..Go for it.

I think it's a great idea, Les

It would be difficult to moderate however for the reasons already mentioned. Maybe 2 sections - Verified and non-verified . Verified being one with witnesses and video (fairly indisputable).

With the post itself listing all mods and track stats if possible (elevation, barometric pressure, temps, etc.)

I think it would be good having a single place to point other forums (ahem ... Honda.. Acura... Stangnet) to for their verification if needed. They seem to really like to read the times in Car and Driver....

Just my opinion..
