60k service worth it?
60k service worth it?
I bought my car at 77k miles so I have no idea if the previous owner did the 60k service on it or not?
Is it worth my scoffing up around $400 for the 60k mile service at the dealership that involves a coolant change, spark plugs, filter etc and an inspection of a few other things.
Or should I just change the spark plugs, and change other things as and when needed?

Re: 60k service worth it?
After doing the SC install, I changed pretty much everything that would be during a service myself. Spark plugs, fuel/oil filters, oil, coolant, power steering, blablablabla. If you're confident enough, do it yourself. Not only will you save a TON of money, but you'll feel better about your car running well too

i'm looking at the flyer from my local nissan for 30k service.
lube: doors, locks, hinges, chassis
adjust: tire pressure, rotate tires, brakes, clutch , timing, CO level, idle speed
inspect/check: all fluid levels, all belts, all signals, all lights, all hoses, wier blades, brakes, battery, plug wires, rotor, ignition cap, exhaust system, air conditioner, analyze engine, cooling system, o2 sensor
replace: engine oil, oil filter, anti-corrosive battery terminal pads, engine coolant, air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs (add $150 for platinum v6), fuel injection service, hydraulic brake fluid, clutch fluid, engine oil flush, tranny fluid, diff fluid.
For $430, I dunno if it's worth the $. Stuff I can't or don't want to do myself (cuz lack of knowledge or Consult): timing, co level, idle speed, air conditiner, analyze engine, cooling system, o2 sensor, fuel injection serivce, engine oil flush. For those services, I'll pay 200-250...all the other junk, I can do myself. Anyways...I'm saving up to do the preventative maintenance. Got another 5k to go.
