who still mods throughout winter?

so, is anyone (especially in north & northeast)still getting rims or exhaust or any exterior things done in the upcoming winter months? it seems like fall is barely here and it's pretty close to winter. i was just wondering if most people take their wheels off? i know lots do, but are there any of you who don't do it and still drive around in snow? i might be getting rims or a y-pipe for christmas but am not sure if i should wait because of the snow. what's everyone's thoughts and opinions on that?

Rims are coming off...all exterior mods except my lighting project cease until temps come back up but modding never ends...there's plenty to do

In Texas, winter just means that it gets chilly and it rains every now and then. No snow means bodykit is coming

do you think it's a bad idea to put rims on or the y-pipe. i know it seems logical to take rims and such off, but in reality, what is so bad about snow? lets say i got rims, if i kept them clean, would there be any real problems? i still have yet to decide whether i want rims (if i do stock 2001 5 spokes, only problem is tires cost big money too) or y-pipe(budget one for $160). i'm not sure which i'd rather have yet.

i love modding the lil things during the winter...when i got my body kit painted over the summer i had them make me a pint of my cars paint...Concord Mist so knowing that here is a list of things i plan to do during the winter:
-Paint Calipers (Concord mist)
-Paint Valve Cover & Accent the engine bay (Concord mist)
-Paint Dash (Concord mist)
-Put rear speaker tweeters in rear pillars instead of just sitting on rear deck
-Interior lighting
-Battery Relocation(Preparing for turbo kit)
-2 x 6 bulb Whelen 90 watt strobe kits(6 strobes up front and 4 & 2 other placed i dunno where)
-Aluminum Door inserts & Door Sills...(maybe)
With all that done the car will look completely different!

the problem isn't really the snow (although the salt isnt great for the rims... especially chrome). the problem is the very cold weather makes many "high performance" tires virtually useless.
