Front bumper splitters...What do you think? I need opinions.

http://imageevent.com/1max2nv/fiberglasssplitters

They are fiberglass. They weren't very expensive, so I bought them to try them out. I'm about 50/50 as to if I should proceed to install them or put them on Ebay. One thing I failed to realize was that BMW have a much shorter front bumper. So the side of the spliiter would come all the way to the wheelwell, but maxima have a much longer front bumper. I also have some CF version on a BMW pics in the album for comparison purpose. The splitters are pretty big so I can move them out to the side more or to the front more. Oh...don't mind the muddy boots. That was the only thing around I could use really quick to hold them in place

Option 1: Install them as is and paint them black.

Option 2: Install them as is and paint them body color.

Option 3: Bust out my jigsaw/dremel and chop off the raised side part.

I think it would look more interesting if it was a full length splitter like this:

Paint them body color... and I think they would look better if they went all the way across, or if you could blend them into the front... IMO

I think it looks good from the front, but once you see the side profile...where's the throwup smiley?

I do like the front...it's the sides that I'm not too thrill. If I do keep them, I will do option 3: Chopping off the side part.

the thing is.. they look really odd because they are supposed to go all the way to then end of the fender to the wheel well and the ones you have stop too short.. if you can get longer or make long.. it would look hot painted

DON'T get them. They look weird as it is, but coupled with a stillen front lip they just look plain dumb. And you'd definatally scrape the hell out of those on a day to day basis...I mean they would be what, like an inch off the ground?

Bonrath has the longest front splitters I can find, I have them on my 5th gen max, see sig.

But I have been eyeing on the GTP ones (from China????) it is full carbon fiber, and it does look BIG, might even be too big for maxima front bumper. But this is my second one already..so I might not do it again. OH, I had the exactly same(probably from different company) one you have and I changed to Bonrath as I mention, due to it was way too short on the sides especially on 5th gen max.

I was at a DTM meet once and we took this nice pleasant drive up on the hillside... there was only 1 lane and the guy in front of me had a CF splitter which fell off on the bumpy ride up and i ran it over... along w/ 2 other guys behind me lol. I didn't even see the damn thing, we were tailgatin one another. Oh well, just gotta be careful with those, well then again that goes w/ any lip or body kit

you are good at being creative and stuff, you should try and figure something out.. taking them all the way out to wheel well would help, and so would paint.. your car is so light that CF ones might even look odd..

good luck on whatever you decide, you know how i feel about your car.

I think splitters look tight. Personally I would have gone with CF or aluminum though...

looks ok to me. I wouldnt flame if u wanted to keep them. If you do keep them i think they should be CF. Get some CF vinly??. Anyway i say keep them if u dont scrape too bad everywhere. Also i dont think u should paint it body color. It would make the front of you car look way too overstyled in the front.

Tony, keep them, but see if you can extend them all the way back to the rear of the fender. They look GREAT on the BMW, but on the Max, thye would have to be body color and go all the way back IMO.

Don't put them on unless you can modify them to reach the end of your fender.

Tony maybe...

...a body shop can invert them and mold them into the rear wing...downwards on the sides. or maybe shave them down and mount them... right before the rear wheels...either way, your Max looks tight as is...

I don't really like them, but my car is a POS compared to yours, so don't listen to me.
