jim wolg goes tssssssssssss
i'm at the point where i just wanna get another intake. The sounds is getting SOOO annoying. Its like your brakes squaling. I looked under the hood and i dont think its a leak cuz the sound comes right from the pop charger. I was thinking of getting a new frakencar intake with the pipe or just a whole new frankencar setup. Or is there anyway to get rid of the tssssssssss sound? Comes mostly from 2500 to 4500.

i have a 5speed. Maybe it was the airconditioner. but i just checked it our without the aircon it it was still hissing. from 2500 to 4000 rpm. I always close my window cuz its so annoying. its not loud at idle. You think buying the middle piece woul make it better? Thanks
That hiss is normal for any aftermarket intake you put on. When you remove all the sound deadening of the stock intake, you hear all the sounds of the air going thru the throttle body now, even the slight whistle from lo rpm air velocity. I had the CAI and had it, too. It sounds the best on a CAI. I converted to hybrid and the hiss was a bit louder cause the filter opening is now right next to me in the engine bay instead of under the front fender.

I've only heard the hiss on a frankencar, and although I thought it was noticeable, I didn't think it was loud enough to bug someone. I've only heard comments about how loud frankencars are as well, so I don't know if I'd go that route. Buying a midpipe for your intake will most likely make it louder. Mine did -- a lot.
If you hate THAT noise, Be glad you don't have a V1

if you ever clean your throttlebody you will know where the noise is coming from. as previously said, the stock intake has a lot of soind deadening and what you are hearing is almost the same sound you get with an open throtlebody.
I didn't have a problem the first 4 months I owned my Berk, but just recently mine started the dreadfull hiss. I explained it to everyone as very bad engine noise coming from your stereo speakers. Friday I took a coworker out to lunch and he thought it was engine noise from the stereo as well. It's coming from the Berk. I put the FrankenCar midpipe on this week and it didn't make it any worse or better. Can this be caused by the filter being dirty? Does the Apexi dry filter have the same problem?
