Polls, Polls, Polls. How about kids, wife and morgage.

All these different polls (age/sex/creed/height/etc) how about those who come home after 8-10hrs of work and play daddy games with your rug-rats, kiss the wife "Hello, how was your day" and balance the check book to pay the morgage and bills. With the average age on this forum being 21-23 I don't expect to see 8+ pages on this matter. Can I get some luv from you husbands and daddy's. For those who are not married, and child-less enjoy these days because modding doesn't come easy afterwards. Now I understand why I see pics of these old school Datsuns, Jags, Morgans, etc. with middle age older men, because once the kids are gone you really have time for your passion.

I got your back. I have all those things, mortgage, 2 kids, 2 car payments, and a classic car in the garage. I find that time is more scarce than the money. I'm not rich by any means but if someone offered me $1,000 or 10 days were I didn't have to work, go to school, worry about time or what to do with it, etc. I would definately take the time. I'm lucky though, my wife never gives me crap about modding/restoring my cars. Ironically, I don't do a lot of splurging on my cars. I still want to do stuff but guilt keeps the wallet closed. Oh well, part of the daddy thing I guess.

I hear ya. Married, 15 year old son, car payment, mortage (almost paid off!!), management job 50+ hours per week. Good thing I love my job, otherwise life would be a bi*ch. Son is learning to drive and it's a blast to be teaching him!

It's all about balance. Making sure I have/make the time for the things that are important. Not going overboard on any one thing, be that work or play. It wasn't always that way with me, but I've learned from my mistakes and just for today, it's all good.

Does 1 of the 3 count for anything?

No kids or wife, but I do have a mortgage and a live-in girlfriend.

I am 23 I am not married, but I have been with my GF for 7+ years. I have a 3 year old son named Nathan, he will be 4 3 days after X-mas. I have no car payment and mortgage, I feel ya about the modding thing. I have soo many things I need to get to finish off half started projects, but they are on hold until after X-Mas. All my money is going towards X-Mas and B-Day gifts for my son in the meantime.

I would say proud. Nothing wrong with telling people who you are unless he posts his social security or credit card number

You know what, none of those things are really that bad. Of course, maybe I'm the pot calling the kettle black being single. I find that the average age in my 'hood is about 10 years older than I am. One side of me the neighbor is retired. Other side they have 3 kids, 5-3- 8 months. When they have me over I find their kids to be adorable--the oldest addresses me as Mr. Yeah, right! The way I behave when I'm out or at the shore I should be called junior.

I guess I did things backwards, because I got the pricey house first. But you're right, it attracts women like moths to a flame so I may as well enjoy it until the girl with the exact fit comes along. But hey, you know, sometimes we single guys wonder if the grass is greener on your side. Heck, I'm paying taxes for the 3rd best school system in Phila. (and I say Masterman in the city doesn't count cause it's elite) so sometimes I wish I did have kids to send!

I'm 28, married, salary job, mortgage, no kids, and no car payments. I spend a good bit of money toying around with my car, but it is very small percentage of what I take home. My wife is all for my car interests as long as it doesn't disrupt our savings, investments, etc. Honesty is the key.

The younger kats in this Org will have rude awakening when they move out of the house and start paying for things themselves. They'll quickly learn that you can't spend everything you make on your car and booze.

34, married, 3 kids, maxima, 86 Pontiac Parisiennen (huge boat of a car), 84 ranger, and a hotrod mustang.

Back in the early days when it was just me, the ranger and the mustang... I lived CHEAP, and was able to devote every other paycheck in full to the mustang. Now, with a wife, kids, house... my how things have changed!

I'm not going to sell the kids off or anything, life's pretty good. The mustang has been getting neglected a bit the last several years, but it will be back out faster than ever in the spring. I hope

Good Luck!
