wheel stuck...any suggestions?

My right front wheel is stuck on my car.
the lug nuts came off fine, but then the wheel itself won't budge.
I took it to NTB (national tire battery), and they said, "we're just gonna hit with the hammer...nothing else we can do."
Any suggestions? this has never happened before.

Set on the ground in front of tire. Kick the sides of the tire, alternating left and right. It will come off!

Kick the tire while you are sitting down on the ground. Make sure your car is on good jack stands. The wheels is stuck on the hub part due to rust.

I keep a heavy nylon coated hammer around for just this sort of thing, one or two good whacks is usually all that's required and it won't destroy the finish of the wheel.

ya it happened to me a couple times with the stock rims because they are HUB centric and get rusted on, just kick it hard a few times on each side of the tire making sure the jack stands are holding the car up good and it will pop off.

thanks for the replies...but

the wheel is still stuck.
Can't figure out how it's stuck on there so well.
I bought a BIG rubber mallot and hit the sh*t out of it from the inside, but still... no luck.

How about spraying some WE-40 on it, let it soak for a few minutes and try pulling it off again?

yeah, I thought that would losen it up...but didn't.
I tried spraying Liquid wrench where the wheel meets the hub. No luck.
What else can I do?

How 'bout some preventative maintenance guys?

I ALWAYS clean my hubs and hats of all rust at every tire rotation, and summer/winter switch over. I simply use a brass wire brush attachment on my 18V cordless drill. Or, simply go buy a brass brush for like $2, and do it by hand. I have NEVER EVER had a problem with hubs getting stuck on, and I live in Toronto, in the heart of the salt belt.
