woo. chilling at home literally. it's cold here in Northern California, huh.
well. i'm about to install the underdrive pulley tomorrow morning (saturday) with the help of BrianW, if he gets my messages.. hehhe.

i know there are some issues with "leakage" and power loss, hopefully i won't have to experience any of those. just to let u know, i got the Gates belts for like $27.00. really cheap. but the oil seal was bucks.

hope everyone is having a good holiday break. i am! *new maximadriver.com website will be up in a few weeks, im still working out the quirks..*

What do you mean by problems with leakage and powerloss?

And any concerns about Phuong's post entitled "Re: Has anyone ever heard of a UDP blowing up a crankshaft ???" in this thread?

The stock crank pulley is also a crank damper. This very fact is why I won't touch a underdrive crank pulley. The VQ is a very advanced and high quality motor, but I wouldn't risk the potential and catastrophic failure a UDP could inflict on the VQ. I've never heard of any serious problems with UDP with the VQ, but there are only 3-4 guys in this forum that have UDP. I know of many crank failures on other cars that have had UDP installed in place crank damper/pulleys. I won't risk it for 2hp.

My best guess is probably not because the flywheel doesn't act as a damper. But I'd suggest you get opinions from others more mechanically inclined than I am.
