Bel 980 Radar Detector - K band falsing ?

Hi

I've had the Bel 980 for a year or so now ... pretty happy with it

I've noticed a lot of K Band falses when passing trucks on interstates .....
It may be that the trucks are reflecting some radar signal - but most of the CA interstates are enforced using Ka band.

Anyone knows about these falses ?
I know X band is notorious with falsing, but I thought K and Ka frequencies are reserved for the cops - so should that not eliminate ( or atleast decrease ) falsing?

Boy - on a side note I got my a$$ saved twice last nite - thanks to my Bel and some common sense !

Inputs welcome

I have a Valentine One and get a lot of false K's too. K is not always a cop as some of the gas stations/stores send it out. I have also picked up K when passing some trucks and following some cars. Just learn when to slow down.

sometimes false K's are caused by other radar detectors...they release a K band radar to sense radar...i dunno how what works, usually occurs with cheaper radar detectors...also more automatic doors are using K and motion detectors...
