Parts availability for Volvos makes Hyundai look like GM. It's not uncommon to wait 2 or 3 weeks for relatively common parts.
Don't get me started about Saabs....

My choices in order:
1) 04 Infiniti G35 Sedan
2) 04 BMW non-M 3 Series Sedan
3) 04 Nissan Maxima
In the summer or fall of 04. All six speed manual. RWD or AWD is mandatory! My 98 GXE is doing just fine and I will keep it as my daily driver since its paid for. My decision will primarily be based on:
1) price
2) horsepower
3) options

My first choice would be a new Cobra
Around 35,000 (their suppose to be below 35,000)
Comes supercharged (easy pulley swap options that with MT tires get this bad boy into the 11.9 range)
The sound of a Cobra
Comes with a tranny cooler and a six speed
Performance
0 - 60 mph [secs] 4.5
0 - 100 mph [secs] 10.4
1/4 mile [secs at mph] 12.9 at 111
If with age comes practicality, then a Max-6 speed, CL-S, or G35 coupe.
Some great inexpensive cars would be the WRX, EVO, and SRT-4 Neon.
If I make it well then an Audi RS6, or M5, DROOOOOOOOLLLLLL

BMW 330ci...I'm not really into modding that much anymore, too expensive to keeping modding. The 330ci is a car that's good enough from the factory. Enough power, looks, luxury, and affordable. Oh, definitely getting a manual this time.

My dream auto at this point in my life is a 99 SE-L in SuperBlack with low miles and all options (Black leather) but 5-speed and not BOSE. Then I would add a Turbo, and all the engine and exhaust bolt ons, and suspention. I would keep the stock body with just clear tails and fronts and tint the windows, AND keep the STOCK RIMS. I would get awsome tires that cost an insane amount of money and corner very well. Add a nice system (two 12's). Then my life would be happy, I would have the reliability of NISSAN, have a very FAST, practical, luxurious car that would kill any HONDA.
Sorry if I went on and on, it was kinda fun to write this dreaming that I may someday actually have the money for it.
Lata,
Dan

I just drove a 2002 Lincoln LS. What a nice car that baby is. V8 engine, RWD, beautiful interrior and firm sporty ride.
I've never owned an American car in my life. I'd like an Acura but the tranny problems scare me. Forget about a 5th gen max, to many complaints. We'll see what Nissan comes out with for a 6th gen. Thats about when I'll be auto shopping again.

already on my way
I sold the Max a year ago in favor of a Pathfinder. That will be paid off in another year, and the money I'm going to make on the wedding will go to my "new" GT-R33.
It will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine!

Definietly a E46 M3.
If I do get it, I doubt that the trade in val. on a 99 SE-L w/ S/C would be high though. What would you guys do? Trade in, keep it, sell it out right.
I'm leaning on keeping her for a daily. Of course, I proally wont' get an M3 for awhile.
Need to pay off that S/C!

Here's what I'd really like to do: Sell my car and buy another '97-'99 Maxima SE, but with a 5-speed Manual Transmission. Then, buy a 350Z or G35 6-speed and have both cars. But since, I'm only 17, I don't see that happening anytime soon.
For my next car (since I'll only be able to afford one), I'll probably go with something smaller since I'm only 17, and don't really need a sedan yet. It will have a manual transmission, too! Right now, I'm thinking one of the following:
Nissan 350Z
Infiniti G35
Lexus IS300
BMW 330i
If I decide that I need the sedan, then I'll probably consider a new Maxima with a 6-speed or the Acura TL-S if Acura ever decides to put a Manual Tranny in it.
Later,
-Nick

If I were shopping now?
A Sentra SE-R Spec V, or (and I can see the flames already) a Toyota Corolla. Why a Corolla? Gas mileage is a big one, and I would also save lots of money because I wouldn't be tempted to mod it!
but if money were no object...
A dark blue, Acura 3.2 TL Type-S. So sexy

I wish my dream was reality
Dream cars:
2000 Subaru Impreza P1 STi (Yes, it's stock!)
2002 Audi S4
The car I will end up getting (Not a bad thing at all):
1997-1999 Nissan Maxima SE 5-Speed or 2001 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS 5-Speed
Note: I will get the S4 one day too, I am just waiting for prices to get to the low 20Ks. So I will be at maxima.org for at least another 2 years and then I will be moving to audiworld.com
Theres my 2 weeks (or years) notice.

For me its going to be a 96-98 Maxima SE in either the Grey/Pewter color, or the Deep Red. I want it fully loaded with a black leather interior and a 5 speed in the floor. Thats not to much to ask right
I dont see myself getting any other car for the simple reason that the car practical. It has all the power I need, I can carry 5 people, and its comfortable. There really is no other 4dr car in the Maximas price range that can match its Power, Comfort, Style, Handling, or Reliablity

My next car will be a 1967 Chevelle SS 396 convertible with a 4 speed. I'll probably keep the Maxima as a daily driver. If not, I'll get a beater pickup to get me back and forth to work and pick up some stuff at Lowes. MMMMMm, imagine having a vehicle that will actually APPRECIATE in worth, not depreciate. Oh well, gotta sell my 1967 Buick Skylark convertible first.
