What is your next car going to be?

What is your next car going to be?
I just wanted to know what car(s) you would buy if you got rid of your Maxima. Just post the Make/Model of that car, and if you want post the reasons why you want that car.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For me its going to be a 96-98 Maxima SE in either the Grey/Pewter color, or the Deep Red. I want it fully loaded with a black leather interior and a 5 speed in the floor. Thats not to much to ask right
I dont see myself getting any other car for the simple reason that the car practical. It has all the power I need, I can carry 5 people, and its comfortable. There really is no other 4dr car in the Maximas price range that can match its Power, Comfort, Style, Handling, or Reliablity

Volvo S-60R... why? 300 hp all wheel drive, reliable, easily tuned turbo to increase hp and it offers (almost) all the room of the Maxima. It's in a completely different price range (new it's about $39k which means about $34.5k with european delivery) but it'll be worth it.

93, or imported 94-5 M5
97ish Audi A4 1.8t quattro
I'm kind of synapse lapsing right now on other cars, but my requirements are RWD or AWD, 4 doors, manual transmission, and a turbo 4 or 6cyl engine with decent power. I'd rather go with boost if I can, but I wouldn't sneeze at a 93 M5. Yummy.

it won't be for another year to three years that I get a new car.. but at this moment I have my eye set on one of these, all used.. I will not be buying a new car for a long, long time..
2k2 - 2k3 Maxima.
2003 CL type S
G35 sedan or coupe
5 series
it all depends on the $$$ and my priorities..
i plan on keeping the max too, if it is still alive
i may strip it down and make it my beater or just mod the hell out of it if i have money to burn and keep the other car relatively stock

Rustang GT convertible.
Before the flames... Why?
- 2 ragtops in this price range: Rustang and Sebring.
- Don't feel like paying for a new Chrysler tranny after 3 years.
- Don't mind being able to easily (supported) mod the car.
The best of all worlds would be to keep the 'stang stored in the winter.

Sure, they look good "on paper" and they get good reviews from the usual mags, but those folks don't have to maintain them.
After about 3 years, you'll probably need to have a compete brake overhaul and all sorts of electrical and A/C gremlins - not to mention interior bits coming loose and rattling body parts.
Parts availability for Volvos makes Hyundai look like GM. It's not uncommon to wait 2 or 3 weeks for relatively common parts.
Don't get me started about Saabs....

Re: Re: Re: Re: What is your next car going to be?
You have no idea what you're talking about, or you're going off bad information. Know why people have those complaints about volvos? Because they last 20 or 30 years so there's plenty of time for something to break. Long-term reports say what I'm saying... you can buy a volvo for life and with minimal upkeep it'll run into the hundreds of thousands of miles (if you want to keep it that long).
As I said, I have a Cross-Country and would buy volvo again in a heartbeat. The car has been a joy to own and drive. It's quiet, reliable, fun, safe, quality, looks good (although my preference is S60/80 sedan body)... heck, it even has more ground clearance (remember it's a Cross-Country so it's supposed to) than my Ford F-150 had.
And the "other" stuff about the car...
The sales experience was the best... they gave me an S80 for almost 11 weeks because I sold my private-sale car sooner than anticipated. Yes, you read that right... ELEVEN weeks while I waited to go to Sweden to get my car. And they apologized when they asked me to bring it back because someone wanted to look at used S80s, so they gave me an S60 T5 for a few days... fun 250hp car.
Service has been incredible... When my wife brings it in for oil changes they offer her a car for the day. They gave me an S80 for the day because it was going to take them an hour to replace the cup holder and they didn't want me to wait. The only problem (besides the cup holder) was some transmission lag that a software upgrade fixed. That appointment was during thanksgiving weekend, so they asked if we could drop the car off on Tuesday (4 days early) and for our "inconvenience" they gave us an S80 to take from Tuesday to Saturday, even after I told them we were driving 400 miles for the holiday.
I will have an S60R... Mmm, 300 HP and AWD!!!

The Volvo dealers in NH may be the best in North America, because the dealers around here act is if they're so cool that they have frost on their private parts - especially if you go onto their used car lot and don't want to buy a used Volvo, but a Maxima instead. This I know from personal experience.
I had "signed on the dotted line" for my Maxima at a local Volvo dealer - contingent upon the guy who was trading it in getting his new Volvo. Well, they scratched his new car when taking it off the transporter and it took them six weeks to get a new fender. They did not offer him a loaner, and I had to wait an extra six weeks to take delivery of my Maxima - which I had planned on taking on a road-trip (once my mechanic checked it out) - and ended up having to cancel my vacation plans as a result of not having a firm date as to when I'd actually get the car - which ended up being two weeks after my vacation was over.
