Timing Chain Cover Removal

anyone done this? i've got about everything off of my engine but this. the manual says it should come off by tapping it with a hammer and a block of wood, no luck. also tried a putty knife, to no avail, it still sits attached, and yes, i'm sure EVERY bolt is taken off. any help?? I'd just like to get this back together almost to have my car running already

Are you talking about the outside cover?there are two 12mm?? bolts on the upper oil pan need to remove before you can take the timing change cover out.You will also need to remove one the long bolt that holding the front engine mount. In order for you to remove this bolt you will have to lift the motor or drop the motor(or you could drill a hole through the frame like i did to mine easier)a lots of work, and it is easier to pry the timing chain cover out on the bottom,i hope this will help and good luck.
