i need help guys....my electrical system is going insane :(

well my car just decided to go crazy on me tonight after work. i got home and i hit the lock button on my remote and the lights flashed like normal.

i went back outside an hour later to get something out and when i hit the lock button the lights flashed once and the doors locked but all my dash lights were on for some reason (brake, check engine, seatbelt, door ajar, etc.)

so i hit my remote to unlock it...nothing. i had to manually unlock the door with my key and i put the key in the ignition and the car starts but flickers the lights and resets my stereo settings (wtf?) BUT when i go to turn off the car again all the lights in the dash flicker really fast and make this "click click click" noise then stay on.

could someone help me with this? do i have a bad relay or something?

I dont really know much about this electrical system stuff. But since about a week ago my electrical system was messin up also. Sometimes my car wouldnt start, no lights would come on, keyless entry wouldnt work, and other times it would work great. Like Wednesday my car wouldnt start so I got a ride to school, and after school I posted my problem here and some one said to clean battery connections and terminals, which I had never done. So I went out and cleaned them and it started great. I havent had any problems since, so you might want to clean the connections and see if that helps any. Just my .02

Sure sounds like something is wrong with your "hyper" grounds. Automotive electrical systems are really tempermental and I wonder if it has something to do with the gauge wire you're running.

It's probably not an issue with the wire gauge, but I was thinking it could be related as well.

Trevor - Let me know if you can't figure out what's going on and I'll bring over the digital VOM or the scope and we can do some checking.

I think we need to design a better setup.

Some ideas:
Solder all the connections
Make sure we get connectors the correct size for the wire
Make sure all the connections have some heatshrink tubing between them and the outside
Clean all the factory grounds well
etc

I think we were just rushing through it too much due to the cold, maybe we can get a spot in someones garage and really make a system that works.

hmmm...

perhaps the connection w/ ure ground wires were loose or something or somehow touched a positive charge connection somewhere.

yeah seriously, you got outta it EASY. trust me, some of the posts i've read about electrical problems SUCK NUTS.

My advice is to **** the ground wire upgrade, it's a useless mod that you can live w/o; don't **** w/ your electrical system anymore, your max doesn't like it.
