tint-safe glass cleaner

I need a recommendation on what to use to clean my tinted windows. I've got some fingerprints and facial oil (ya kno, when there's immature friends in the back seat, etc). Water isn't working (duh!) and niether is a 50/50 mix of alcohol/water. I need something with cleaning ability. And it's gotta be tint safe. Thanx!

Not sure if you have a Costco or Price Club out there, but here they carry a package of 4 aerosol cans of glass cleaner that is ammonia-free and safe for tinted windows. It really works well.

Agreed. That's "Sprayway Glass Cleaner". The tint guy recommended it to me.

yes sprayway glass cleaner is safe for tint, most automotive stores sell it. There are some other glass cleaners which are safe for tint also. It should say on the back of the can if it is safe or not for window tint.

The aerosol-type stuff works well, but Armor-all makes a cheaper tint-safe glass cleaner. Can't remember what it's called, but it's like $3 at Wal Mart, and it states on the bottle that it is tint-safe. The ammonia in most glass cleaners is what causes tint to fade over time.

Ditto. I use Armor All's "Safe for tinted windows" auto glass cleaner as well.

It works well.

Best cleaner I've ever used...

This stuff is terrific!

It's Cyclo Glass Clean C-31 (www.cyclo.com)

This foamy window cleaner is unreal. It might be able to be purchased at a specialty store by you, but if not, order a 6-can box for around $18. It is worth every penny.

I keep a can in the garage and use it on the Maxima and Pathfinder and it cleans the inside windows streak-free every time, the first time. No smeary haze like other cleaners. I also use it for inside surfaces that you could use conventional glass cleaners on. I use it on the stovetop after oil or grease splatters and it cleans in one step... NO smearing or residue. I don't know what's in the stuff, but it just plain works. I also give cans to friends and family and THEY all rave too.

Hope this helps!
