5th gen or 4th gen...?

i cant decide whether to get a fifth or fourth gen maxima. my options are basically the 2000 or the 99. i would very much like to get an se if i get a 2000 because i want a black one and i like the se taillights alot more than the regular ones (especially the ones that look like altezza style lights). if anyone has any pics of any relatively stock black se maximas i would like to see them. just give me some insight on the pros and cons of both models. either year i would be getting a manual tranny. i have already had an auto and i dont want another one. thanks. car would be left relatively stock as well. maybe a lip kit, already have some 17's, and an intake.

It's not black, and it's really not an SE, but it definitely fools a lot of people. Hope this sways you towards a Fifth Gen, although the 99's were pretty sweet too.

all i can say is wow...that looks alot better than i thought it would. plus i have some bronze/dark gray seventeens to put on there with the black car or whatever color gray that is, cause that is nice. say i dont get an se for some reason. how easy is it to get se taillights? oh yea, it looks like on the newer maximas the wheel gap isnt bad at all. i could definately get away with not lowering this car. well, time to go find one to buy then. thanks again. oh yea, what is the color of that gray called. i like it.

Look at us, we're both fakes, lol.

Anyway, it's really simple to change the taillights - I just bought the smoked out plastic housing from the dealer and used all my old bulbs from my GXE tails. It's all the same. Just got to pull out the old lens, slap some sealant that the dealer give you for free with the lens, and then press the light onto the car and bolt it in. Easy!

Also, I definitely am not lowering mine. Not with the NY winters and stuff. It looked ugly when I had the stock 15" wheels on the car, but ever since I got my 17's, it looks pretty good.

Also, if you end up getting a non-SE model, make sure it has a spoiler, those are a pain to add later and are so expensive. Maximas don't look right without them.

The color of my grey is called Grey Lustre...it's really nice, though both black and grey are hard to keep clean. Also you should look into Majestic blue too, that's a solid color, I think, if you're into the darker ones.

Also, to get you back on the side of the light...uhh, I mean the fifth gen, Here's another shot:

That was before my rims

and how about another?

That's when I had my Tantrums.

Get a fifth gen! Grey Lustre!

Majestic blue was not available in 2000. it came out in 2001 but only on the Anniversary Editions. now it is a regular color for 2002/2003.

damn. its a choice between two very nice cars. i guess it will just depend on which one is available for what price back home. but believe me, i WILL get a manual tranny car. i used to have an auto and i will not have another one. thanks for the quick input guys, great pics too. what et's can i expect anyways. correct me if i am wrong but i am guessing stock anywhere between high fourteens and low 15's depending on conditions, driver, and which car i get.
