if ever there was any doubt that i am an a-hole
here is some proof
i just had to tell this story its so funny..
i was headed home tonite .. normal commute doing about 60 - 70 mph.. a burgundy neon flies by in the right hand lane.. probably doing about 80 - 100 mph..
afer a couple seconds.. i drop it in 3rd and start after him.. couple seconds later i fly by him doing about 135 he never knew what hit him ...

sigh, I miss my 1.5 mile commute.

But on my 55 minute commute home (if I leave too late, otherwise it's 25-30 minutes), I can shorten my drive time by 5 minutes by running the first 10 miles (always clear of congestion) at 120 mph instead of 60 mph.
But that just gets me to the bottleneck faster. Then I still have to sit around and buck in 1-3 for 45 minutes.
But bucking with a manual still beats playing my favorite guessing game - which gear will the automatic be in when I punch it, and if it's in 2nd, will it kick down to 1st in time for me to pull out in front of this big truck!

For sure. I'd rather beat myself to death with a ACT Street disk than drive an auto.

All of us in the area know if you don't get on the Beltway by 3 we are screwed.
BTW to any interested, I take Route 66 to and from work and if you leave anywhere from 6 to 8 it is a nightmare. I commute 25 miles each way, it takes about one hour and ten minutes each morning, and fifty minutes on the way home. And let's not even begin to talk about how long it takes to get home on Fridays.

ohhh...Big man you are
Beating up on little neons. You should've left it in 5th and walked him, that would be semi-impressive, but still not a big deal.
You probably wouldn't spool quick enough if you left it in 5th would you?
By the way, what color are my tailights?
