RVM udp?

What are your opinions about the RVM UDP? Do you like it? Is it worth the money? What are the ups and downs of the UDP? Thanks for your input.

The UR is slightly lighter (I think like .2) and smaller in diameter. That's it.

...so is spending other people's money then too I guess. BTW, where did the money for this RVM UDP come from? You should really settle your debts before spending money on niceties for yourself... Seems to me you've owed Vyrus (and others perhaps)longer than the RVM UDP even has been available.

First off its none of your damn business about my money but a loan payment came out late and screwed my money up this month and i puchased the rvm udp about a month and a half ago and i made the deal with Vyrus.

My point was that Vyrus gave you his money several months ago and you chose to buy yourself some goodies AFTER that, when you instead should have just given back his money or delivered the product he thought he was buying.

You probably are right though... it is none of my business. I just don't like it when i read that someone is getting screwed...

Well I was screwed no doubt... just hope Bruce actually fixes that somewhat by giving me what he owes me. And I don't see anything wrong with looking out for others - if that principle didn't exist, Roadbeast would not even be remembered.

Has anyone who has seen the RVM and UR give there impressions on quality difference between the two pullys (if any)? If the price was close I would go with the UR just because it is an established company. But for a difference of over $100, more than double the price for the UR, I am seriously considering the RVM.

Did you ever end up going to the track again to test it? I remember last time you said it made your time worse. I was wondering about it. I want to buy a udp but if I can get just as good quality for a RVM for $100 less then I'll go for it.

If it doesn't help, and it makes you slower, why would u even get one? This thread has made me think about selling my UR UDP

Possibly it makes the car harder to launch since it revs quicker so it is more difficult to hold the RPMs. The theory is sound, less rotating mass = more power and reducing the power needed to turn accessories means more power to the wheels. However the difference is only ~5HP so normal variations in track times could be more than any gains from the pully.

so what your saying is wheel spin would increase, but from a roll it could help

Kinda, more like it's harder to find the perfect launch RPM in between to much wheel spin and bogging. From a roll there should be more improvement, but that's just my theory.

Edit - After some practice with the UDP you should be able to launch as well as you do without it, it probably just takes some time to get used to it.

Well tons of people have proven that they can launch with a UDP and even with both a UDP and a UL Flywheel, so it just takes some getting used to.
