Damn PIAA Superwhite finally blew..
Should count myself lucky. It lasted me for almost 3 years. I still have one good one, not that I need it. I dont have the $$$ to spend on more PIAAs (as much as I'd love to get more). What brand does everyone recommend to get that isnt some funky color, (prefer white) doesnt blow worse than my ex gf, and puts out plenty of light?

also, when they say 55w>85w on the box it means they are 55W and put out 85w.. meaning they are safe for our stock harness right?

I have the PIAA super plasma H3s and they're pretty good. Not as bright as 2K2 HIDs, but a nice white color. Definitely whiter than the xtreme whites. Check with soundmike for good prices on PIAAs.
You're correct about the power rating, they are 55W, but produce the same light intensity as normal 85W bulbs, so they are bright, but still safe for the wiring harness.
As for Whitemax, that sucks that the bulb died, but 3 years is excellent lifespan for any bulbs, especially PIAAs.

Hey Jonathan-
Just wanted to let you know I've had a good expereince with the Phillips BlueVision. You can find them pretty cheap @ Kmart stores.
And Tom,
I've experimented with many 9004 bulbs; Phillips BV, Sylvania CoolBlues, XtraVision, SilverStars, and stock bulbs. All seem to pretty much suck. Maybe you've just been so used to HIDs that regular bulbs seem like no light at all now.

i have some no name 110/100 with slight blue tint (looks white) bulbs that worked surprisingly well for 8$ a pair. perhaps i was lucky. i discarded of the packaging but it was a blue carton, each bulb came individually wrapped. i suppose it's a bit of luck to find a good cheapo bulb.
