???'s about Y-pipe install...(long)
Just finished installing a Y-pipe on Irvine78's 5th gen. The Y-pipe is a Stillen one and there seemed to be some MAJOR fitment problems. Has anyone else experienced this? There was much more work involved than what Stillen advertised (that was expected). We put the Y-pipe on and secured all the bolts on the flanges and hangers except 1 going to the front cat. I'm almost positive it has resulted in an exhaust leak. The holes from the flanges on the cat and the pipe seem flush, but the bolt doesn't thread all the way through. I also don't know what a Y-pipe is supposed to sound like, so there may actually not be an exhaust leak. Need any suggestions and any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA.
PS - We also did not receive any gaskets that fit on the front end of the pipe (the part that connects to the front cat), so we just "made" the stock one fit. Will there be any problems with this?
PSS - I don't really like Stillen anymore...

ok if the holes dont line up exactly try using a slightly smaller bolt and big washers. if there's a leak you will feel it. when the car is cold run your hand around (not on) the flanges area. if you feel a gush of air or a breeze then there's a leak.
if the gasket in front of the cat is in good condition then u can reuse it. again check for leaks.
when it comes to after perf stuff your bound to do some minor adjustments to make things fit.
