You've probably added a bunch of extra weight, I don't know how much stock rims weigh..but..your 17 Koing Monssons weigh in at 21 lb each..so 84 lbs of metal ;p that is still not as bad as the MOMO 16x7s, they weigh in at 30 lbs each!

When I got my wheels I tried to get nice looking ones that didn't weigh too much, I got a set of 17x8 Volk Racing TE37s, the 17x7.5s come in at 15lbs each, not sure how much the 17x8s will weigh in as.

it seems like lots of folks with 300ZXs have 18 in rims. they dont seem to worry bout the weights as often as maxima owners worry bout it. interesting tidbit

17" rims are probably a bit heavier than the 16's. But larger wheels do provide better handling and cornering. So, it is a tradeoff between the two. But, I think 17's are a good compromise.

It's not in you're head: it's the weight. Compare the difference in wheel weight, tire weight and tire diameter between what you were running before and running now. I'll bet it's heavier now. Wheel/tire weight hurts just because of the extra mass (linear acceleration) and rotating mass. The means the effective weight increase is greater than just throwing that much more weight in their trunk.
This has been covered many times here, other boards and magazines: 17" for show, 16" for GO.
