For those of you in Ontario, what is the legal percentage for window tinting and what, based on your experiences, is the "street" limit that will we keep the man from hassling me?

Based on black leather and blue exterior, what do you recommend I do to get the right look on my new Max?

Hey Kanata, where are you located? I'm just outside of TO. I was just looking into that and I found out that tinting is not illegal no matter what the percentage is. This is what a tinting shop told me so don't take it to the grave but they said it was up to the discretion of the officer...if you get pulled over. They should be able to see your profile through the window because if they can't then they will probably give you a hassle/warning/ticket/make you take off the tint. I would recommend 20 all around because I like dark tints but don't go any darker for the front two windows because it will cause you nothing but problems...in the long run. Most people go with 35 for the fronts and 20 for the rears. That's just the norm!

Hope this helps buddy,

Thanks five for the info. I'm in Kanata which is just outside of Ottawa. I have also heard that tinting may not be legal and that it is up to "the discretion of the officer". But there a lot of cars on the road with tints and plenty of shops who do it so they can't be enforcing this too much.

I'll will probably go 20 in the back and 35 in the front (or maybe just 35 all around). I don't want to give the OPP any other reasons to waste my time.

BTW your car looks great. I'll be watching for it the next time I'm in TO. I have family in Mississauga so I'm there quite often.

Kool man, you should drop me a line if you're ever gonna be around the area and we'll hook up for a pint. I was seeing some girl from a little hole in the wall called CARP. Do you know that town?
Thank budah for big cities...I couldn't get used to that place!

Sure I know Carp. Definitely a small town.

I know this is something that is all over this website but I can't seem to find an answer so hope you don't mind me asking. Have you found a good supplier of performance products for Max in Canada? I am particularly looking for FSTB that will improve the ride on my 01. I love the car but sometimes the ride has a definite vibration. I hope that an FSTB will help but I don't like the idea of spending USD and then paying tax and brokage fees to get it across the board. Anything you can tell me is much appreciated

Hey buddy,

the shops that I buy my aftermarket products from are: Performance Improvements in Mississauga, JRP(Johnston, Research and Performance)in Toronto-Mississauga, Alta Nissan in Woodbridge(I think it's woodbridge), AMS(Absolute Motor Sports) in Mississauga-Toronto. These are the main shops that I visit/buy parts from. You may want to check sympatico.ca for a search of their phone numbers but I know these are definitely the shop names. Hope that helps you man!
