I actually didn't use any tapes...cuz they won't stick onto the unpainted kit anyways...i just drill and drill holes in the wheel well ...not really noticeable when the wheels are in there

btw, I just found out my algae eater died...and half of its body has been eaten by other fishes....i just wanna cry now

No tape? Hmmmn. I thought the rear might need some at least.

I've got one that's around 10-12" if you want a new one. I've been trying to get rid of the *****, but everyone says he is too big for their tank.

Think he would make it in the mail?

actually I drilled a hole for the rear @ where the exhaust is at. Hopefully that will hold it up.

My friends were kept on telling me my algae eater was too big for the tank. When I bought it, it was really small. sigh........
I think I'll try to give away my fishes now.....don't want to kill innocent lives

Hmm, the tape did not stick? Did you scrub the kit really good with cosmet? Your suppose to otherwise the paint and tape won't stick.

You should think about having your grill painted while your at it too.

Sorry to hear about your algea eater, I have a 6 inch one in a 20 gallon tank..

the lip looks good on your car most likely because it is a dark color.

Your right...all my body kit was painted THEN installed. It's logical.

So how did you get the back on?? I know you were having a lot of trouble with it.

As for not using tape, how did you hold up the areas that weren't riveted down, like the middle of the front, sides and rear?

emax - did you use tape after cleaning it?? My kit SHOULD arrive on monday and the body shop is going to start fixing my car that day too, so any last minute advice would be nice. Should I use screws or rivets???

Mahalo!

this is a LONG LONG story
at first I used a hair dry for about an hr, then I try to use hot water, then I use boiled water,,,,,and finally put half of my rear kit into the oven @ 200 degrees and baked it for about 15 mins = Got it on in 30 seconds

I do have some tape in the front..not sticking though. I was too lazy to peel 'em off. As for the sides, I riveted 'em down good. For the back since it fitted so tight, I just have 1 screw right above where the exhaust is at

So I guess the oven was the trick. I hope not all these kits are THAT fitted!! Did you rivet the sides where the door closes? Kinda like how this Raymond guy did it (got it from your other post). What I MIGHT suggest to my friend is to rivet the entire kit and then bondo the rivets and do a little body work to hide the rivets. I'll get the best of both worlds; a secure and clean installation.

Car looks slick!! When are you planning on having it painted?

Can't wait to get the kit in, shipping time is a little longer than expected so I'm a little nervous. I'd be happy just to sit in my car again - it's been 6 weeks already!!! I've been driving a Ford Focus and man, it's a piece of shirt!!!! The way I drive it, I only get 200 miles/tank - there's just not enough power.

Yeah, at least its not like a brown car with a black bodykit. Who would do something like that?

hey I'm still trying to decide what I should do. Cuz I need the car everyday, and I live alone here in GA. Since the paint shop I'm gonna get it done at don't work on weekends, that means I gotta be without my car for 2-3 days during weekdays (I live 30 miles away from school). So I was thinking maybe I should just rent a car, but my friends are telling me to save the money and wait 'til spring break to do it (March). So i don't know yet, I know it looks ghetto, but.........i really don't have any other choice right now

Save money??? Won't you still need a car during spring break? Wouldn't it be better to have your car done before spring break so you can cruise it during the break??? Besides, doesn't a rental cost only $20-$30/day?

b/c during spring break my schedule will be less demanding. I won't have to try to find a ride to school (o ya i can't study @ home too, so i gotta go to B&N almost everyday too), since I live pretty far from school. Ya rental is about $100+ for 3 days, I'm a poor college student
