A firm believer of cleaning your TB
Here are a couple of pics of the inside of the intake manifold of a 4th gen with 140K. I have cleaned the TB a couple of times but this is what you can't get to unless you take the throttle body off of the car. I couldn't believe how dirty it was inside the butterfly valve.
Here is a pretty poor shot of inside the manifold:

Here is the backside of the TB:

There is a larger pic on my homepage, but you can see where I was able to clean half of the butterfly from the filter side...

How much time did it take to remove the throttle body? i have over 140k miles and a couple months I cleaned the throttle body... but i don't think i did a good enough job. I'm assuming, you just have to unscrew the 4 bolts? Lemme know! Thanks

edit: damn, I just look at your homepage, did you take the whole damn engine out to clean it?

It took about an hour to get the TB and the intake completely off. There are just the four bolts on there and also 3 lines connected to the underside of it. Two of them are coolant lines and one is a vacuum line I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I haven't yet cleaned it but I will post pics once I'm done. The motor on the last page of my homepage is the motor I've started building. I'm slowly taking parts off the old motor and transfering them to the built one.
You can use any TB cleaner, just don't get the "carb/tb" cleaner, I heard that it can harm the intake coating. Someone post if they know more...
