I'm on a tight budget, so I'm choosing between two treats for my max.

I got it at 77k miles, it's now at 80k miles so I don't know what if any service was done to it in the past.

It has 2 old bridgestones, and 2 newer futuras.

I have around $450 to spend, so should I go for 2 or 4 new Dunlop Sports, or should I get a tune up with new sparks and change the cracking drive belts (alleged by nissan tech at last oil change) with the 60k mile service?

It's a '98 GLE, I've been getting lousy milage like 19 for highway driving, and I'm not keen on doing/changing things my self as the last time I did it I messed things up in there.

If I were you, I'd contact the person who sold you the vehicle. If they did a 60k service, say at 65k, it would be a complete waste of your money to do it again 12k later. If they've never done it, then get yourself a Nissan coupon and go ahead and do it.

As far as tires go, they are a must-have. Don't skimp. If they are just mismatched but not fully worn, then leave them. If they are worn, unevenly worn, or have any bulges on the sidewall, toss them. Since the fronts wear out way faster, they probably needed to slap the 2 Futuras on but didn't want to do 4. You could always buy 2 of the same futuras to replace the bridgestones. If I'm not mistaken a belt job is over $100, so the techs are trained to rob anybody who has more than 36k. They never start the cr** before 36k because they'd have to cover it under warranty. Yes just get plugs, the belts, a fuel filter, transmission fluid, and 2 tires and you should be fine. If you have a jack anyway. Other wise you'll have to take it to the mechanic.
