Buying a new car, any comments?
Buying a new car, any comments?
I sold max to a friend about a month ago and looking into getting a new car now. I drove my friend's WRX for month and enjoyed it. My budget is at 25K-27K, and I've thinking about getting A4 or WRX or MB C230. Any comments would be appeciated. Thanks.
I'd look at a used S4 if you can find one under $30K. I see some every now and then. It just depends if you want a new car or not. I wouldn't waste your money in a C230. Also, check out a used M3 sedan. But if you want a new car with 4 doors and awesome performance, I don't think you can beat a WRX for what you get for your money.

The WRX is the clear choice. The mods are endless compared to the Max.
The WRX can easily be brought up to 300 hp. I can't wait to get rid of my Max for the WRX. The maxima is a great car but if you want serious performance the maxima does not come close. Turbo baby.

Dude the WRX is abviously not the Choice, It has so many sensor Problems its not even funny, and its hard bringing it to 300 hp, it runs around 14.9-14.5 stock. I suggest you get a 2.5rs any thing except the 2002's and up they are too heavy, Drop a Turbo in the RS and youll be easily running 12-11 seconds, somewhat of a sleeper, the RS runs around the same as the 4th gen Maxima stock

Sensor problems? Example?
The WRX is a reliable car and assuming you don't do things like drop the clutch, the car will live a pretty happy life. You don't need to drop the clutch in the WRX to get off the line hard. Rev up to 5000rpms, slip the clutch a little, then release it quickly. Instant 1.9 60'.
300hp in WRX means simply raising the boost via a manual boost controller (20hp), up-pipe (10hp), catback (15hp), upgraded intercooler pipes (10hp), and an ECU tweak (20hp).
The 2.5 motor in the RS IS NOT up to the task of holding power like the 2.2 in the WRX cam. The 2.5 RS motor is not rated to handle the power and "12-11 second" is not EASY

The RS does NOT run what a 4th gen 5 speed Max does either. A 5 speed Max is good for lower 15s at 91mph stock. The RS is good for higher 15s@87mph stock. That's not exactly what I call "equal".
