Someone told me for when I drive around in the rain, or snow, that I could put on a shorter filter for the CAI, and keep the intake under the hood (and not out of the wheel well)..

Anyone know anything about this? My CAI should be here tommorow, and I just wanna know in advance if I have to go shopping for an extra part or two because I still got a fair amount of snow up here. Not nearly enough to get it sucked up into the intake, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

well adding a "shorter" filter won't put the filter into the engine bay...it's the piping that leads to the wheel well where the filter is located...

Well......

That's why I said a part or two but yeah that's what I meant hehe. Anyone know a way to mod this to keep the filter out of the wheel well? I swore I heard someone say you could but I can't remember where. I'll do some more searching to keep me busy.

hmm

well if you did not want to put your pr cai in the fenderwell, you don't have to attach the piece that goes in to the fender.Attach the kn filter to the end of the maf sensor.

then it's not a CAI and rather than spending 215 bucks you might as well spend 90 to 130 and get either a JWT Popcharger or the Stillen intake...

Blah.

Yeah thanks boogiemax95 .. That's what the instructions said, I was just worried about it for nothing.

As for the Stillen Intake, well, when my BLACK car hood is cooking in the sun, I'll be happy my air is coming from the wheel well. I do live in a wierdass climate zone (Canada, eh?) remember =P Freezing winters, boiling summers.

If you're concerned about water uptake through your CAI . . .

try this:

A universal one?

Where abouts would I put it in the intake system? I'm assuming somewhere before or after the MAF, but I've never seen one on a max before. Thanks, I was gonna ask about one of these as well but for the time being I'm just gonna stick the filter after the MAF.
