PLEASE!! Help Me Decide On a Rim....
I am in the market for a new set of rims to
get rid of my 15" steelies and was hoping
to get a few comments on the two rims I like best.
Please help, even flames would be constructive criticism![Smilie](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Benefits of the bigger rim, negatives?
This one is the volk knock-off
18x7.5 Weight:?? more than 20lbs ??
This one is a blitz syle wheel
17x7 Weight:20 lbs

The inspiration for these are Matt Calder's Maxima, Iilac's, (sp?)
and this one

Oh and a little background, no kit, 95 Maxima Dark Blue

18x7.5 is a good size. I think Matts wheels look good but I think the best wheels I have seen on a max have been saddlers chrome centerlines. Those are some sweet wheels but out of the wheels you posted I like Matts

Too many spokes don't look too good on a max. get the 6 spoke.
If you ever race keep your 15" steelies at least for the front wheels.
17"+ rims
Benefits: Looks better, makes you feel better
negatives: heavier = slower acceleration(only noticeable if racing)
15" rims
Benefits: lighter, faster acceleration(only noticeable if racing)
negatives: boring and ugly.

So would I notice the difference between
7" and 7.5" width?
I looked at the Importhookup.com wheels
and the tire sizes are the same for the
wheels I want (215/40/17)
by the way GREAT link!!
hacim105 - I am going to keep the 15 inchers
for the track and such, but the tread is
wearing thin. I am concerned about the
power loss from switching to a bigger
rim too.
So now I am trying to find a middle
ground between looking cool, losing power,
and not spending 2 grand for wheels.
