Modeled JWT ECU w/MEVI and 7200rpm rev limiter in CarTest

Just something some of you might find interesting: I took the liberty of using Requin6's dyno plot and inputting it into Cartest2000. I had previously accurately modeled my best run with the VI on street tires of 14.46 @ 96.7. The ONLY changes I made to this model were using Requin6's WHP numbers AND a 7200rpm rev limiter (with the power dropping off to 187whp at 7200rpm), no other changes were made. This yeilded a 1/4 mile time of 13.88 @ 101.89 on street tires with a 2.20 60' time. Modeling with slicks showed 13.59 @ 101.47 on a 1.90 60' time.

thanks neal, that is great news. looks like 13's NA is an accomplishable goal! and your times are only going to get lower and lower! (i had a good feeling about this )

What? I'm getting faster? I guess you are right

Neal, it's funny how the car-test time came out to exacly my time (13.883) @ almost 101 MPH. My 60' was simaler at 2.25 too.

It looks like this next track season is going to be a fun one! I am going to work very hard to keep my sig quote intact. I will not be using slicks though, so that should make up for my .5 liter advantage. My car weights a few hundred pounds more though, hmm, maybe I should get drag radials then? Hehe, nah..

Remember it's all in good fun!

Isn't it amazing how simply gaining some extra useable RPM can really help things out? I've done the calculations and with just the fuel cut raised to 7000rpms (no other tuning), the MEVI equipped 4g is riding along a power curve with an extra 15fwhp and tq. I can only imagine what it will feel like with the JWT tuning and 7200rpm redline. I can't wait to order my JWT ecu.

Ethan,
We're holding you to your word of "NO SLICKS". Of course years ago you said you'd be keeping your I30, then you sold it and got a 2k2 Maxima which you said would stay stock because "you didn't like the lack of reliablilty with modifications.". Now look at you, 2k2 Maxima, UDP, intake, fabbed y-pipe, catback, lowered, wheels, aftermarket leather, bodykit, aftermarket wing, no aftermarket wing, G35 intake manifold, no G35 intake manifold, blown MAF sensors, and now potential headers.

.......just get the damn slicks

I thought the JWT cams were very mild, meaning there was minimal loss in the low end? I remember reading a while back the the stock cam specs were not very different from the JWT cams, if I remember reading correctly.

The track I go to is way to far away to risk my reliablity, I've heard way to many stories about slicks and tow trucks.

BTW we went over what I said I beleive 4 times now. I understand I changed my mind, thats perfectly normal, people do/ do that on occasion..

The transmission type will have no effect on the valvetrain's ability to handle increased RPMs.

Neal-

Did you ever do a calculation to determine how much quicker the MEVI/JWT will be compared to just the MEVI in an all out highway topspeed run? I'm so pumped. I'm calling JWT on Monday and sending my ECU in
