Does anyone have problems running 85watts H3 foglight bulbs? Is running 7amps through the stock wiring going to melt the stock wire, harness, and trip a fuse? Sorry for such a newbie question, but I just wanted to be sure

I don't run overwattage bulbs in my fogs, but the guys I do know had more problems cracking the glass than with wiring. Aparrently the extra heat causes problems with the glass.

search on-line for wire gage and current capability ... The fogs run on a 15 amp fuse; so 2 x 7A may blow the fuse @ turn on (due to the surge spike), so go to a 20 amp fuse, you'll probably be o.k.
The wiring should be o.k. up to 20 amps, I think, my .02

I've had 85 watt bulbs in my fogs for almost 3 years now. No problems. But I only turn them on when I have trouble seeing. So I don't run them often. If you plan to run them often, don't go with over wattage. The glass lens will crack if water hits the overheated lens. It's not a problem if it's dry out and the car is moving.
