Needing some transmission help

I'm ordering parts through Courtesy Nissan.. So far they gave me a great deal on all the pricing. If your looking for a OEM part thats the place to get it.

I'm kinda lost when they asked me "The shim must be ordered according to thickness" what did they mean by this. Are they talking about the rings that space in between the gears? I'm in the process for rebuilding my trans, everything else seems easy to install. Just curious on this one question.

If you want this is where i'm at on the job. Transmission

Oh god what a Nightmare, I had that happen to my car 3 times. I see you sheered off 2nd gear. Well guess what? 2nd gear is also the gear thats permanently tooled onto the input shaft. You'll need an ENTIRE input shaft (or was it output shaft?) to replace 2nd gear. Read $$$$$$$$ and a pain in the ***** to get all the other stuff out.

From the diagram, its actually 3rd main gear and 3 input gear. Maybe i'm reading the diagram wrong.. Are you positive its 2nd gear? I know that its a permanent setting for the gear on the shaft, but from the chart nissan sent me, it looks like the 3rd gears. If you want I can email you the diagram. I could use as much help as possible to make ensure I order the right parts.

Thanks for the responce.

Ok I see what your looking at now, well I think your talking about the last two pics in that folder(trannie and differential), aren't my transmission.. Those belongs to Jay25.

My tranny wasn't as bad as his.

Carol: Yeah, you missed out on the last post. This all happend on George Busbee Pkwy, in front of the Wal-Mart. I was taking off hard shifted threw first and second; i'm not really sure if I missed 3rd, but more then likely and grinded the gears. All of a sudden, Boom! broken tranny.
