At some points throughout my travels, my front tires wouldn't even grab because there was ice building under the snow that was already there (about 4" covering the roads). Pretty embarrassing.

The Sport A2's were good over ice and even on a 2" covered road but on some of the side roads it was rediculous. The front of the car just wanted to slide sideways into the guardrail.

My lady wants to get rid of both cars to get a Volvo XC90 but I want to keep my Max and get a truck. I love my car but if the weather keeps up like this, I'll have to go over my checks and balances to make the right decisions. I know I don't live in an area where it snows too much but I find no pleasure in driving my Max through all of this mess.

All of you lowered guys, how are your cars handling this snow?
I personally love driving through the snow. When I see it snow hard I go out driving in it just to play around. A good winter/snow tire is all you need. I use the Nokian NRW but there's plenty of other choices out there. Makes driving in the snow a breeze. Just my 2 cents. (And I hate the "I can't afford snow tires" response that most people I talk to in person tell me when I hear them complain about snow driving. It's like, how much is your life worth? Good snow tires can easily save your life. Mostly because it gives you the ability to avoid other cars, brake faster and accelerate faster. I've had to avoid big SUVs thinking they could fly through the snow because they have this godsent 4wd system. They just never quite think ahead far enough to realize that 4wd won't help much for braking distance.)

I thought we had a "don't ask, don't tell" policy around here?

BTW, after I read all this...I realized the irony of looking for a pair of clean shorts instead of pants to wash my car in this morning. I don't know how you guys live in that ****.

It's a toasty 47 degrees today. Were up here walking around without jackets and hats. The Maxima is enjoying the clear roads also.

Anyone who lives in an area where the temp is above the freezing mark are bastards if they brag about it here

Signed: Disgusted with this winter being the coldest in over 10 years. (At least here)

Yes it is a lake(Lake Geneva,WI)....The ice was about 2 ft thick. It was about the best time I had driving in a while. People were doing donuts all over the place. There was a A4 attempting to do them, but left the traction control on. I must say, I was impressed by a middle aged women in a Jeep Grand Cherokee who was doing some impressive work.

Next time I am up there, I need to get some vids.

i was thinking new durango for the last 2 months. especially when i was shoveling my driveway. and yes the secondary roads do suck. springfield and hartford are all the same. between the a$$holes that park on the street the night b4 snow and the lazy plow drivers, the roads are fukked. all day you can drive around and you will see peeps with driveways that are parked on the street wtf. half the streets are now 1-way's. maybe its the city's fault they dont enforce the parking ban. signs everywhere "no parking snow zone"

Around here when snow comes the city enforces snow emergencies which means you can't park on some streets and others where parking is allowed you have to park on the even side one day and odd the next. If you get caught parking illegally they put a big sticker on your window and fine you. If it is still there the next day, they tow it. Works pretty well.
