broke my 2 inner tails...cracked one of my outer tail...and successfully open up my other outer tail...i'm feeling a lil bit down rite now fellow orgy member...tell me ur experience while making ur red/clear tails...those of u who successfully done it the first time...don't post...cuz i hate u...

Set your oven to 250 and bake those babys for 20-30 min. Go slow, take your time, pry evenly, use some cleaner wax to clean up the mess the glue makes on the lenses b4 your put them back together.

I've helped a few orgy members do red/clear tails. Most were sucessfull, except for one.... Bad thing is, the set that cracked wasn't my car.

ok...superglue is not holding my broken pieces together...and when i go to put my lense back..it don't fit all the way in...wat is up w/ that???

Try heating up the factory glue so that the lense can go back into the housing. I've done 2 red/clear's and broke 2 lenses on my first try. When sealing them back up I used outdoor cocking which did the job at sealing them boyz up.

Bought a set from an .org member knowing I'd rack at least 1.

Tried the heat gun first, then the oven.

The oven was 10000% better.

200 degrees, for 10 minutes, then try and pull apart with an old set of oven mits - if it doesn't come easy, 5 more minutes in the oven - repeat as necessary.

Makes the house stink for a little while because a little bit of the glue burns off, but no biggie.

I've messed up quite a few myself.

My first attempt, like most, was unsuccessful. I used the oven but left it in there for too long and melted the lens.. but the damn thing did pull apart like butter.

I cracked a corner, and cracked them down the middle twice. Another time they were done well but someone in my family turned over the table i left them on and cracked those too


After different methods and attempts. I think I pretty much perfected doing red/clears now.. and have done approximately 20 sets for org members and people on the street.

I found the heat gun to be the easiest and safest way..
I use a propane torch though

Key is PATIENCE.

Do not, ever pull on the corners. Only in the middle, and pull evenly on all sides.. heat evenly on all sides as well.. keep going over and over... eventually they'll buldge.. then heat them more, they'll buldge more and finally let go..

i took apart my head lights, had slight problems getting the driver side back together, dont worry.... **** happens(especially when you dont want it to)

after breakin' 'em i was just feeling really frustrated. and there was a grindin' sound coming out from the wheel with broken studs (after installin' rotors). So i thought if they change studs they'll have to take everything apart than put 'em back in. well, after they fixed the studs, the grindin' sound was gone.

Oh well man. If you decide to buy some extra lenses, let me know. Bring em to the house and we can do em in my oven. The wife doesn't have to know about it! I've done the tails and the AE headlights now. Both came out pretty good. Let me know.

i have found that if you pre-heat the oven to 200 then let the tailights bake for 12 min then get a buddy to use a heatgun pull slowly from center if they dont pull apart ez then heat em up more use light force and never pull from edges or stand on edges ,it will go very nicely.
