50K tuneup?

50K tuneup?

My max just hit 50K today and I just wanted to know if I should get a tuneup at this time or wait til 60K...

If you're definitely going to do it, such as at a dealership, I'd do it now with coupon in hand. That way if they point out any drivetrain related problems, it's covered under warranty. Problem is they usually wont point things out since they wanna get you after the warranty is gone. If you're over 36 months then forget about what I say and wait until 65k - 70k because the only thing I'd be concerned about is plugs and fuel filter.

I believe that the reverse switch and oil sending units were replaced after 36k and before 60k on my car and they covered it under powertrain. Fuel sending was twice under the 36k and covered again after 36k because it had a 12 mo./12k warranty which stretched beyond the original 36k. This last unit was on the blink 2x but has been fine for quite some time now (73k miles on the car).

The name of the game is to deny warranty claims. The only way to fight that is to clearly be under the mileage guidelines.
