question about volk te-37's

i have a buddy who's trying to sell his gunmetal 17 inch volk te-37's, but i'm not sure if they fit my max...he originally bought them for his 2000 accord v6. i know they're 5x114.3, but i think he said the offset is 48?? i don't know if that would fit or if it would look funny. anyway they've never been mounted, he's got toyo proxes t1-s rubbers brand new and he said he'd let them go for 1900$. thats a lotta cash to drop on 17's so i wanna make sure my car won't look like a clown ride. thanks

If he lives close to you it shouldn't be too hard to just mount one, and see how it looks. When dealing with such a costly transaction, it shouldn't be too much to ask of him.

my wheels are also 48 offset but I bought 5mm spacers to space them out to 43mm and they fit fine. never tried them without the spacers so I dont know if your goign to rub or not. 48 is pushing the limit

looks the same but only the tires are further out. The bigger the offset# - the closer the wheels are to the car which can cause them to rub against the struts or wheel wells, adding the spacers gives them more clearence from rubbing by widening the stance. Again, im not shure if you will rub without spacers but im shure that adding the 5mm spacers will be fine since thats what I have done.

17's will look marginally bigger than stock 16's cause of the design of the wheel. You might want to rethink getting the 17's.

hmm...i've seen 18 inch te37's on a max and it looks really nice. but 1900 for brand new gunmetal 17 inch te37s with proxes t1-s's sounds really hard to pass up...

The bolt pattern looks correct.. Just get a 5mm spacer like someone else said and that should put you down to 43offset.

Jesus $1900 for 17" TE37's and Toyo T1-S is the steal of the century.

FYI the TE37 in 17" are $600 a piece. That's $2400 right there plus $170/tire x 4 tires. That's a $3100 set of wheels and tires my friend, not to mention the gunmetal TE37s are one of the rarest colors on the market. A 5mm spacer (if any at all) will make them fit. Get them because if you don't I will, seriously.

THose are 18's.

and dont buy them

Hey Neal, 17's can actually be had cheaper than that. The 18's are around 620-650 per rim for the gunmetal. Normal colors are a bit cheaper.

I agree with matt. My 18's cost about 600 a wheel. I think i've seen 17's for as low as 430.
