I have a 97 auto max. Does anyone have a Wolfe Tech. intake or any intake for the auto max? If so how does it sound? thanks

 

It doesn't sound any different than it would on a 5-speed.. There is no different between intakes for the auto or 5-speed. The car gets a dual personality with an intake. Quiet during normal driving.. But mash the throttle and the engine roars. Its a very distinct sound too.. =) Not like the hondas and all.. I haven't heard any other cars that sound like it. Usually the intake sound is accompanied by the sound of tires breaking loose.. If emissions isn't very strict around where you are.. I mean, if they don't check for CARB cert etc.. Get the Jim Wolf intake if you're deciding between Stillen and JWT.. Its the same intake.. but the Stillen one is like 40 dollars more but had a CARB Cert. #.

but not all the time it's perfect. nice DEEP growl. I get a lot of looks when I hammer it to WOT( best in 2nd and 3rd). I don't think they expect to see a "family car"

 

I know what you mean. They have that look like.. whats in that car?? Its really not natural for a silky smooth engined sedan like the maxima to be roaring like that. =) I've never heard anything else like it before so I can't even compare the sound to anything..=) Love it.. =)
