I really need to get Nitrous or SC to keep up now. There's going to be tons of these running around.

Need to get a benchmark

Tony

You need to run as you are now in the cool weather to see what you current setup is. I wonder how close to 15 you are now. I see more complaints about the Stillen SC and none about NOS.

I've got it at home.... there's an ABT chipped 1.8T in there that ran a 5.7 0-60, 14.3 quarter mile or something like that and that's with some minor tuning issues (redline was too low for a 1-2 gear 0-60, another 50rpm would have given it a 5.3 0-60 according to SCC).... outran the stock S4 they compared it with. Big feature articles on German cars in the issue. I've got it at home with me...

Actually that modded A4 >>>>.

In SCC is very modded !!!!! It has a bigger turbo than a simple upgraded TD04, I believe. Has a chip, exhaust, the usual upgrades, but I think that thing makes 280-300 hp and probably cost about $5000 minimum to upgrade. I would rather have a stock S4, but hey i love those quattro A4 too.

yep, my buddy just bought a 1.8t Jetta GLS

he's gonna chip it and see how she does!

The A4 is SCC had upgraded the turbo to a bigger unit from ABT KKK K16 hybrid, ABT exhaust manifold, a seconday inter cooler, ABT airflow meter, ABT cat back exhaust, ABT intake, AMS ECU, AMS fuel presure regulator. Can you say 24psi pf boost for 285bhp & 273ftlb, (Audi Quattro) 13.7sec 1/4mile @110.7mph., 0-60 5.6sec. Probably about $4,000

I reseached some things for him and found this stuff.

http://www.abdracing.com/perform6.html $3400!!! prob ~240hp Smokin!

http://www.vwaftermarket.com/catalog...e=Turbo%20Kits This kit claims 240hp for $1799, but its for Passat 1.8t, same motor though right?

I used to have a 16v Scirocco that was tricked, nice car till it wore out.

But for the price he would be paying for the car and turbo upgrades a SC'd (or NOS'd) Max will smoke has ***!

The #'s on Audi site are conservative

The average times I see for the stock S4 are 5.5-5.7 sec for 0-60. Best 1/4 mile time is 14.2 sec. I'm not sure where Audi got their performance numbers. The only thing I can think of is that the Europeans always tend to rate things on the conservative side.

i thought 14.4 is a bit conservative too, but i won't really count on 13.9-14.1 either, 14.2 is about right, i think i saw number in the s4 vs. m3 shootout artical too.

But hardly anyone talks about stock performance numbers. It's the <i>chipped</i> performance numbers that count, hehe!

of course, most enthusiasts who buy S4 already have chipping/BPU in mind.
i was just rubbing jim a lil since he always tends to rate his car faster and other cars slower in stock form when he talks numbers

hey, what's audi's answer for the new m3? i know it will be right there if you tune up some boost but is it gonna get any upgrades to battle the m3 in stock form?

14.6 for a golf, even chipped seems too high!

just chipped, I don't know about that one. My friend has a A4 1.8T, chipped and exhaust and it's nowhere near that number. My other friend has a 1.8T bug, chipped, and again, it's nowhere near that number. I'm not an expert on chip modification on turbos but if those two above mentioned cars are pulling low 15's, how is the same engine pulling over half a second faster in a similare car? Yes the A4 weighs more but the bug is similar in weight.........?????????

I'd love to know?

cheers,

14.6 with a chip, filter, quaife LSD, and bypassed power steering.

http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/Forum27/HTML/000948.html

I guess the typical time for just a chip and nothing else is 14.8.

I would love to see a stock golf 1.8T with just a chip run 14.8! I don't think that's ever gonna happen! Just my thoughts though.
