Going to repaint my trunk soon and.............

if I debadge the trunk, is there a thin double stick tape that would be strong enough to hold the emblems thoughout the weather changes or will I need to buy new emblems?

I used 3m tape from Pepboys to reapply my "Tuned by Stillen" emblem after the tape that was on it, lost its grip. It's been on there for 3 years no, and its not budging....

You actually want to re-badge it? Personally, I would just leave it off, but since you asked...

Here's a couple of site that might provide the answers for you

Thanks for the replies fellas. I like having the badges plus I have a GXE badge. My wife hates to see debadged Maximas so I don't want her in my ear talking about how stupid it looks. I would just mask off the badges and spray over them but I want to make this job look good.

While you're at it, paint the badges the same color as the body color. I will do that myself one of these days.

I think it would sooooo much better than the chrome. Won't be a naked rear, but will blend alot better I think.

Body-colored badges always look like the painter was really lazy to me... black chrome (like the 2000-2001 SE) would look really good against your car though.
