$100 to make my VI work
$100 to make my VI work
Already took it to a mechanic, it just appears that for some reason or another, the harlan RPM switch isn't going off or giving any signal that it detects the right RPM from the engine. Since I didn't really participate with the installation at all I really wouldn't know where to start or how to troubleshoot since I don't have the tools or know exactly how the wiring was done. Its been nearly 6 months since I've ordered my VI and i'm just fed up with not having this thing working in my car. If you can meet up with me and get my VI in working condition then I'll pay you $100. I'm in the Tucson area but I am willing to go up to phoenix if nescessary.
Damn that sucks! I was going to ask you if you got it working yet. Now I know. I got the wrong gasket for my EGR so mine still isn't in yet either. =( List the stuff that you tried already. Maybe someone will be able to come up with a few more ideas.

Help me/us help you.
What Spark plug setting is it on? I.E. Coil / 4 cyl
DID you use the light to verify it?
What rpm is it set at?
Did you use the light to verify it?
AT that rpm does the light come on?
Where do you have it hooked up to for the rpm signal?
I know you did not installit, but you can check these things.
WE all had problems with our VI's.
Don't sweat it, take a deep breath and be commited to making it work

Sounds like it's not picking up the coil input. Trace that wire back to the engine bay to see if it is actually going to one of the coil packs. It doesn't matter which one and the striped wire is the one you want (not the red, not the black).

Follow this advice.
Your harlan unit is not getting an rpm signal from the coil.
See and you thought it would be hard.
