I've heard various rumors on the board about the 2002 Maxima. The only "hard" reference I have is Motorweek.

http://www.motortrend.com/future/2002_2.html

They mention the 3.5 l/260 hp engine. Does any one else have any hard verifiable info? Will the engine be in all models, or a special edition SE? How about a 6-speed? Any ideas on price? References would be good...

Wow, 3.5L...I dunno about that with the raising gas prices and all. Sounds like it'll kick some a$$ though

a bit OT here, but the "2002 Toyota 4000GT: 400-horse Supra successor based on Lexus SC" sounds bad a$$!

WTF? If the Altima will compete with the Accord and Camry, what segment will the Maxima fall into? Oy!
