i wanted to paint the plastic piece in front of my speedometer, it has it fair share of scratches, just wanted to know some techinques like what grit sandpaper and if i should primer it cause of the scraches.

 

im painting my tails..just priming them real good, maybe u want to sand down ur sctahces though. peace.

 

I'd use 240 or 320 grit to get a smooth finish. Always use a primer before painting color coat. Primers primary objective is to provide adhesion for the color coat.

just make sure it is real clean, clean it w/some rubbing alcohol the surface of the bezel is already kind of gritty I painted mine before I bought the polished aluminum bezel here is a pic...just use about two or three light coats since it is behind the plastic it won't ever chip or get damaged...I also painted the bezel on my Sentra

You mean like this? Yes I know the piece is broken by the cigarette lighter. It's been replaced since. You can barely see the gauge cluster on the left side. Silver surrounding the black gauges looks really sweet and unique IMO. Just got tired of seeing white face gauges. Everyones got em now.
