What do you do so the car would pass smog test when registration time ?

well, i'll worry about that in...uh...3 years..
and you don't have to worry about it for next 2 more years.
plus, i dunno where u live, but i can pretty much go to korean/chinese/vietnamese owned smog facilities and get it passed! they will pass you no matter what!
my friend with an integra..(straight pipe, apex-i N1 exhaust, akimoto intake, NOS, cams, headers, wires and everything you can buy for an integra) he still passed AS IS!!!

I've heard most maximas with y-pipes can pass the smog tests. Just make sure you car is nice and warm before you take it in to get it smogged. And also, as long as the shop doesn't know what a stock maxima y-pipe looks like, you will probably pass the visual test too.

I just moved to California from Pennsylvania. I had my car inspected back in May and failed PA requirements. I also have a RT Cat, but it didn't work. I just swapped out the pipes. I got my car smogged last week w/the stock pipe and passed, then swapped the pipes out again. It doesn't take long, just gotta prepare for it.

as for the Ypipe. as long as the car is WARM, it should pass

ive never seen any smog techs crawl under the car to check and see if you still have your Cat or removed precats. The Y-pipe removes the precats which shouldnt affect emmissions once the car is all warmed it. its supposed to aid in cold warm up, nothing more, You should be fine. Plus, if you really do have probs, you can always opt for the $100 "special" smog. Thats wut i always get...

no im not kiddin, there are $100 special smog. I usally get mines for $70. Ive seen some dudes do it as high as $300...
