QuicK ? do you really need a spring compressor?

i was wondering if you realy need a spring compressor to put the strut assembly back together after replacing the stock springs with say h&R...

If you already have them apart and replacing it with aftermarket lowering springs, a lot of the time spring compressors are not necessary to reassemble the strut/spring assembly. But if you have not taken it apart yet, you'll need a set of compressors. Most of the time you can find them for free on loan at your local parts store.

Ya what he said...don't really need em for aftermarket springs, just the OEM's are a ***** without a compressor

If you want do it safely the answer is, "Yes, you need spring compressors."
