How bad is this on your tranny?

Missing a gear, like hundreds do at the track every weekend?

Forgetting you are in reverse, or drive and stalling it as you let the clutch out?

Grinding into a gear?

Bucking a little on take off?

Peeling out on take off?

I am just curious, cause I have done each of these things atleast once on my new tranny, which has about 1,000-2,000 miles on it. Just wondering how much abuse a 5 speed can take, I do not do this stuff alot, just every so often, common mistakes, I usually drive like a grandma.

Also, reving way up top and holding it there, I know it isnt good for the motor, but what is it doing to the tranny?

Id worry most about grinding and missing gears, especially if you pop it into gear without holding the clutch down.

man, that's the most careless mistake ever. I don't know how people could do something like that. However, I have had a friend try to switch gears w/o holding the clutch down in my car when I finally let him try driving stick. Then again, he's the same guy that walked into my glass door thinkin it was open lol

You just want to break into your tranny properly. My friend bought a brand new rsx type-s and both him and I learned how to drive stick on that lol. About a year later, his clutch is slipping and he thinks his synchros have gone bad

Just try to be careful.
