there happens to be a 3 inch long x .5 inch wide paint scratch on my front bumper.. its been stripped totally of paint, i can see the dull grey , how much would it cost to get that fixed? will the body shop have to repaint the WHOLE bumper ?

yes
whenever you get soemthign repainted on the car they always have to re-do that whole section. ex hood, bumper, fender, door....This is because you will be able to see where that square was touched up-and paint can't be exactly matched.

Yes they will have to repaint the whole bumper. Your car is a 2000 if im not wrong so you would hant to refinish the bumper using a basecoat/clearcoat paint. They would spray the basecoat(color) on the repair area (scratch) and then clear the rest of the bumper witht he clearcoat. If the painter blends properly you will not be able to tell it was repainted. After it is painted check out the texture of the paint and see if it matches the hood if not tell then u want it wet sanded and buffed! Anymore questions just email me. As fir a cost i would car somewhere around $150
