somethings you don't joke about though, could notice the attempt at being sarcastic, it'd be like making a joke about how hitler killed 1000's of jews.........

Any ideas or input?
As long as you have a Maxima, Were happy with your decision

I personally would try to find a MR2, a Supra, 92-93 240 with SER and turbo with slivia kit. You can but pretty much all the super japenese cars of the early 90's. The only car I would not get is a third gen Rx-7. Try 3000gt or 300zx TT

I drive cobras everyday at work, and even though they are tons of fun to drive, I would rather drive a maxima. If I had the money for an 03 cobra, it would be a tough decision. But I still think I need four doors.

i would agree. especially if you want to stay in the nissan family (which i would). a S13 (89-94) 240 with an SR20 would run you less than a cobra and could easily match its performance. if you don't like the look or want something newer, try an S14 (95-98) 240 with an SR20. anybody that says you can always get a Cobra to run faster hasn't seen what an SR20 can do. if you have the *****, try out an RB25

If you can find an RB25, you can try to stuff that biatch in there. There is someone in houston who has but a big block 427 in a 1996 240.

If he wanted a friggin few month long process of getting a motor, getting it put in, tuning it he would not be looking at 97-98 Cobra. If your looking for a ***** to wall fast ride, go with the cobra or a 99 Z28 or SS Camaro if you can stand the looks. Their is'nt going to be any car that year in those price ranges that have the same bang for the buck. Most post in this thread seem to be alot of peoples' wet dreams and none them have done any of these projects. If you throw a few mods at either of the afore mentioned cars you would whoop 95% of Maximas on the street hands down. Put a blower on either and you up it to 99.9% and turbo one of them and you've got a super car killer.

I think that as of right now I am going to get a 97-99 se 5 spd and then get a new suzuki bike (600) since I am new at riding...I figure max is reliable for all around driving and then the bike is fast enough for my speed cravings

I will see, I know reliablity is not there but I need to actually test drive a few to see how it goes. As far as the 300zx I think the reliability would be even worst since the car is about 12-13 years old for the most part. Any other input would be appreciated...like I said if not I will get another 4th gen 5 spd and I have enough $ as is to get the PFI kit and 3 inch exhaust and other things needed to run the complete kit so that is not a bad idea either. I used to care more about having a pimp ride but now its all about being fast
how much you wanna spend on the max?

Good choice, that is the same idea I am having except I am getting a Yamaha R6, and either keeping the max for a while or getting a matching Sonic Blue 03 Cobra.

I guess no one picked up on this. The pre-98 Cobras WERE NOT just cosmetic versions of GTs

1993 Cobra 5.0 240hp had 5 lug wheel and upgraded suspension and brakes. Lower 14s@~98mph

1994-1995 Cobra 5.0 240hp had upgraded suspension and brakes. 14.4-14.6s@95mph

1996-1998 Cobra 4.6 DOHC 305hp had upgraded suspension and brakes, different hood. Low 14s/high 13s@102mph.

1999,2001 Cobra 4.6 DOHC 327hp was the FIRST Mustang to ever an IRS. Mid 13s@104mph with the Ford SVT "fix".

2003 Cobra 4.6 DOHC SC 390hp, IRS. High to mid 12s@110mph.

The Cobras from 1993 to present are typically .5 to 1.0 seconds quicker than thier GT counterparts. It's just not a cosmetic mod.
